Job Description
Meta Platforms, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Content Moderator – Trust & Safety Specialist to join our remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for reviewing and moderating user-generated content across our platforms to ensure compliance with our community standards and policies. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make consistent, unbiased decisions in a fast-paced environment. You will play a vital part in protecting our global community and upholding the integrity of our platforms. This is a 100% remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze user-generated content (e.g., text, images, videos) to identify violations of community standards and platform policies.
- Make consistent and accurate moderation decisions in accordance with established guidelines.
- Utilize internal tools and systems to process content efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including policy, legal, and product teams, to refine guidelines and address emerging content trends.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation processes and tools.
- Handle sensitive and potentially disturbing content while maintaining emotional resilience and professionalism.
- Document findings and provide feedback to improve automated moderation systems and policy clarity.
- Stay informed about current events, online trends, and potential threats to user safety and platform integrity.
Required Skills
- 1-2 years of experience in content moderation, trust and safety, or a related field.
- Proven ability to analyze complex information and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.
- Strong understanding of online community standards and content policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of empathy and understanding for diverse user experiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Proficiency with various computer applications and internal moderation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Sociology, Criminology, Psychology).
- Experience working in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their operational challenges.
- Multilingual abilities (especially in high-demand languages).
