Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, diagnoses, and develop personalised treatment plans.
• Perform complex surgical procedures with precision, adhering to the highest standards of clinical practice and patient safety.
• Provide exemplary pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring optimal patient recovery and outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with anaesthetists, nurses, medical specialists, and other allied healthcare professionals as part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team.
• Actively participate in on-call rotas as required by the surgical specialty, demonstrating commitment to urgent patient needs.
• Contribute significantly to clinical audits, governance, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.
• Mentor and supervise junior medical staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely patient records in compliance with regulatory and hospital standards.

Required Skills

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a valid license to practice in the UK.
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent specialist registration in a surgical specialty (e.g., General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Cardiothoracic Surgery, etc.).
• Extensive experience as a Consultant Surgeon in the relevant specialty, demonstrating a proven track record of clinical excellence.
• Demonstrable expertise in a broad range of surgical techniques pertinent to the specialty.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with an ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Unwavering commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and ethical medical practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fellowship of a Royal College of Surgeons (e.g., FRCS) or equivalent international qualification.
