Job Description

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking dedicated and reliable Construction General Laborers to join our dynamic teams in Mississauga, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or advance their career in the construction industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of manual tasks, including digging, lifting, carrying, and placing materials.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, electricians, masons, etc.) on various construction tasks.
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and hazardous materials.
  • Operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Follow all safety protocols, site-specific regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support equipment operators and drivers as needed, ensuring smooth site operations.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects on schedule and to specifications.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks consistently.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.

  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (even minimal) in construction or a similar physically demanding role.
  • Valid WHMIS and Working at Heights certification.
  • Basic knowledge of common construction tools and equipment.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid G class driver's license with a clean driving record.
