Job Description
We are actively seeking a motivated and reliable Construction General Laborer to join our dynamic team in St. Paul. This is an immediate start position for individuals eager to contribute to significant commercial and industrial construction projects. As a General Laborer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our skilled tradespeople and ensuring the smooth operation of our construction sites. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, learn new skills, and grow within a reputable company dedicated to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, masons, and electricians, with various tasks.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, setting up safety barriers, and organizing tools.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision (e.g., shovels, rakes, drills, grinders).
- Perform site clean-up, including sweeping, trash removal, and general maintenance of work areas.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to grade specifications.
- Assist with the erection and dismantling of scaffolding and temporary structures.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure project goals are met.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned to support project needs.
- Handle and move construction materials like lumber, steel, concrete, and rebar.
- Help with concrete pouring and finishing, including setting forms and assisting with screeding.
- Support demolition activities as needed, ensuring materials are safely removed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical tasks for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices and protocols.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites in the St. Paul area.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications
