Job Description
PCL Construction is seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Foreman to lead our project teams in Moncton, New Brunswick. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily construction operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to manage crew members and coordinate with project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction crews, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Oversee the quality of work, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Manage material and equipment inventory, ensuring availability and proper usage.
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Prepare daily reports on progress, challenges, and resource utilization.
- Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- OSSA Fall Protection, Confined Space, Aerial Work Platform, and First Aid/CPR certifications.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in construction management or a related field.
- Trade certification in a relevant construction discipline (e.g., carpentry, concrete finishing).
- Experience with project management software.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in New Brunswick.
