Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Security Engineer to join our growing team in Calgary, Alberta. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions within our extensive AWS cloud environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data, working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with a global team. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security controls and best practices within AWS cloud environments.
• Perform security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend remediation strategies.
• Develop and automate security tools, scripts, and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor security systems, analyze logs, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and compliance teams to integrate security into the entire SDLC.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats, technologies, and regulations.
• Participate in security architecture reviews and provide expert guidance on secure cloud configurations.
• Document security policies, procedures, and architectural designs.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years focused on cloud security.
• Deep understanding of AWS services and security features (IAM, VPC, Security Groups, KMS, GuardDuty, Macie, WAF, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty certification.
• Other relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP).
• Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD security best practices.
• Experience in a large-scale enterprise or public cloud environment.
