Job Description

Join Arup’s dynamic team in Bristol for a Civil Engineering Internship. This is an incredible opportunity for aspiring civil engineers to gain hands-on experience in a world-leading firm. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers with project research, data collection, and analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of design concepts and technical drawings using CAD software.
  • Participate in site visits, surveys, and inspections to gather project-specific information.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation under guidance.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on various stages of project delivery.
  • Learn and apply relevant industry standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Engage in problem-solving and critical thinking to support project challenges.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Civil Engineering degree program.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of civil engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for civil engineering and sustainable design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) or other relevant engineering software.
  • Previous experience with engineering projects, academic or extracurricular.
  • Understanding of environmental considerations in civil engineering.
  • A strong academic record in civil engineering coursework.
