Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pittsburgh, PA. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex engineering calculations and designs for civil infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, water systems, and site development.
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct site investigations, surveys, and analyses to gather data for project development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and calculations.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budget management.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and internal teams.
- Conduct quality control and assurance reviews of project deliverables.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project execution.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, design standards, and construction practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated experience with project documentation and reporting.
- Eligibility for Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with a clear path to PE.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain reciprocity.
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) platforms.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations applicable to civil projects in the US.
- Project management experience, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Experience in a specific civil engineering discipline such as transportation, water resources, or structural engineering.
