Job Description

As a City Manager at DoorDash, you will be the owner and leader of our business operations within Bozeman, Montana. This pivotal role requires a dynamic individual who can drive market growth, optimize operational efficiency, and build strong relationships within the local community. You will be responsible for the end-to-end success of DoorDash in your market, ensuring an exceptional experience for Dashers, merchants, and customers alike. This is a highly autonomous role that requires a strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities and a passion for local commerce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute local market strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Manage and optimize marketplace efficiency, including Dasher supply, merchant performance, and delivery quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local merchant partners, identifying growth opportunities and resolving issues.
  • Recruit, onboard, and engage a high-quality Dasher fleet, ensuring adequate supply to meet demand.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics for the Bozeman market, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.
  • Analyze local market data to identify opportunities for improvement and expansion.
  • Oversee local marketing initiatives and community engagement efforts.
  • Collaborate with regional and corporate teams to implement new products, features, and operational best practices.
  • Act as the local face of DoorDash, representing the company in community events and local media opportunities.
  • Manage local budget and resources effectively to achieve market objectives.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in operations management, general management, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, set strategic direction, and drive operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams (direct or indirect).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficiency in G Suite or Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Experience in the on-demand, food delivery, or logistics industry.
  • Experience working with a marketplace business model.
  • Familiarity with the Bozeman market and local business landscape.
