Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join the culinary team at The Peabody Memphis. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced culinary professional to contribute to our renowned dining operations. The Chef de Partie will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation, quality, and presentation. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a specific kitchen section (e.g., grill, sauté, pastry).
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure proper portion control, presentation, and plate aesthetics.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and commis chefs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory, manage stock rotation, and minimize waste.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and kitchen policies.
- Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef on menu development and specials.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent role.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Excellent culinary skills and a passion for food.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and presentation.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP).
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or relevant certification from an accredited institution.
- Experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
