Job Description

UCHealth is seeking a dedicated and board-certified/board-eligible Cardiologist to join our thriving practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive cardiac services, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and management of various cardiovascular conditions. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with specialists, and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and EKGs.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and interventional procedures as appropriate.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of primary care physicians, cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and other specialists.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for cardiac emergencies.
  • Educate patients and their families on cardiovascular health and disease prevention.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient medical records.
  • Adhere to all medical ethics and professional conduct standards.

Required Skills

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Cardiology.
  • Completion of an accredited Cardiology Fellowship program.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Colorado.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and treat a broad range of cardiovascular conditions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  • Eligibility for Visa Sponsorship (H-1B, J-1 waiver, etc.) if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Subspecialty board certification in areas such as Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, or Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology.
  • Experience working in a large academic or multi-specialty healthcare system.
  • Familiarity with advanced cardiac imaging techniques.
  • Research experience or contributions to medical literature.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably Epic.
