Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Carbon Analyst to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. This is a crucial role for our sustainability efforts, focusing on the measurement, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our environmental compliance, carbon reduction strategies, and public reporting initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and manage GHG emissions data from various operational sources.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on carbon emissions for internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and public disclosures.
  • Monitor changes in environmental regulations and industry best practices related to carbon accounting and reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of carbon reduction strategies and projects.
  • Conduct data verification and assurance processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of emissions data.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and environmental teams to identify and quantify emission sources.
  • Utilize specialized software and tools for carbon footprint analysis and modeling.
  • Contribute to the company’s overall sustainability reporting and net-zero aspirations.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in carbon accounting, GHG emissions reporting, or environmental data analysis.
  • Proficiency with GHG emissions protocols (e.g., GHG Protocol, EPA, API, IPIECA).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex environmental data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
  • Knowledge of carbon markets, carbon capture technologies, or climate change policy.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations specific to the oil and gas or chemical industries.
  • Project management experience in environmental or sustainability initiatives.
