Job Description

Are you passionate about environmental protection and eager to gain hands-on experience in advocacy and campaigning? Greenpeace UK is offering an exciting internship opportunity in Aberdeen for a highly motivated individual. This role provides a unique chance to contribute to impactful environmental campaigns, develop valuable skills, and work alongside experienced activists and campaigners dedicated to safeguarding our planet. You will be instrumental in supporting our local and national initiatives, helping to raise awareness, and mobilising public support for critical environmental issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research, planning, and execution of local and national campaign activities.
  • Support the development of campaign materials, including digital content, flyers, and presentations.
  • Engage with the public, volunteers, and local communities to raise awareness about environmental issues.
  • Monitor media coverage and public opinion relevant to ongoing campaigns.
  • Support outreach efforts, including event coordination and volunteer management.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks that support the smooth running of campaign operations.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas to campaign strategies.

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for environmental protection and social justice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct basic research and summarise information effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Environmental Studies, Politics, Communications, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with local environmental issues in Scotland or the UK.
  • Experience with social media platforms for advocacy or campaign purposes.
