Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD Draftsperson to join our dynamic engineering team in Miami, Florida. This is an exceptional opportunity for an international candidate to contribute to significant infrastructure and building projects in the region, with visa sponsorship provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and revising detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and maps using AutoCAD and other drafting software. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to translate conceptual designs into precise technical documents crucial for project execution, ensuring all designs meet safety standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, schematics, and models based on engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations for various projects (e.g., civil, structural, architectural).
- Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and translate them into accurate and compliant drawings.
- Review and revise existing drawings to incorporate design changes, redline markups, and project updates efficiently.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to industry standards, company guidelines, and project-specific requirements, including local building codes.
- Maintain organized records of all drawings and associated documentation, ensuring proper version control and accessibility within the project management system.
- Assist in the preparation of technical specifications, reports, and other project-related documents as needed.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to gather information, verify dimensions, and ensure constructability of designs.
- Actively participate in project meetings, offering technical insights and solutions related to drafting and design challenges.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and other relevant CAD software.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and engineering drawing standards.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all drafting tasks.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship to work legally in the United States.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a CAD Draftsperson in an engineering or architectural firm.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other CAD software such as MicroStation, Revit, Civil 3D, or SolidWorks.
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in infrastructure, civil, structural, mechanical, or architectural drafting projects.
- Familiarity with local building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards specific to Florida.
