Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Building Services Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a strong background in MEP design and building systems to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems for various building types.
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
- Collaborate with architectural and structural teams to integrate building services designs.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant local and national building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Participate in client meetings, present design concepts, and address client feedback.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
- Perform energy modeling and sustainability assessments for building projects.
- Utilize BIM software (e.g., Revit MEP) for design development and coordination.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in building services engineering design.
- Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design principles.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes (e.g., IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA).
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure.
- LEED AP certification or other sustainability accreditations.
- Experience with energy modeling software (e.g., IES VE, Trane TRACE 700).
- Previous experience with international projects or diverse building typologies.
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution and lighting design principles.
