Job Description

Fidelity Investments is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Budget Analyst to join our finance team in Newport, RI. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in developing, managing, and analyzing budgets across various departments, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic alignment with company goals. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor departmental and organizational budgets, ensuring adherence to financial objectives.
• Analyze financial data, prepare comprehensive reports, and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Forecast future financial needs, identify potential risks or opportunities, and propose proactive solutions.
• Collaborate closely with various department heads to gather financial information, provide budgetary guidance, and support their financial planning.
• Track budget performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to maintain fiscal control.
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial plans, long-range forecasts, and strategic financial initiatives.
• Ensure strict compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and best practices.
• Utilize advanced financial software and tools to enhance budget tracking, reporting capabilities, and data visualization.
• Participate in special projects, ad-hoc financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives as required.

Required Skills

• Proven experience (4+ years) in budget preparation, financial analysis, and reporting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling).
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and GAAP compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial data clearly.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and a commitment to data integrity.
• Proficiency with financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Workday Financials).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
• CFA or CPA certification, or active progress towards one.
• Experience with advanced financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and reporting requirements within the investment industry.
