Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Budget Analyst to join our finance team in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting our financial planning and analysis efforts, helping to ensure fiscal responsibility and optimal resource allocation across various departments. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and maintain organizational budgets, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide detailed explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Prepare regular financial reports, forecasts, and ad-hoc analysis for management review.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather financial data and assist in budget preparation and justification.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis for proposed projects and initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of budgeting processes and financial reporting tools.
- Ensure compliance with all internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or a similar role
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or actively pursuing
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
