Job Description
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Bricklayers to join our dynamic construction teams in Brampton, Ontario. This is an exceptional opportunity for experienced masons looking to bring their expertise to Canada, as we are offering comprehensive visa sponsorship for qualified candidates. As a Bricklayer with EllisDon, you will be instrumental in constructing and repairing walls, foundations, and other structures made of brick, concrete block, stone, and other masonry materials, contributing to high-profile projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of brickwork and masonry projects.
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry units to construct or repair walls, foundations, patios, and other structures.
- Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools.
- Mix mortar and grout to desired consistency.
- Erect scaffolding and ladders, ensuring safety at all times.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with site supervisors, other tradespeople, and project managers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer or Mason.
- Proficiency in laying brick, block, and stone.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of masonry techniques and materials.
- Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Commitment to health and safety standards on construction sites.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of English for communication on site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal certification or equivalent recognized international masonry qualification.
- Experience with various types of masonry including decorative brickwork and restoration projects.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program in masonry.
