Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and community-focused Virtual Blog Comment Moderator to join our digital team. In this 100% remote, part-time role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity and quality of discussions across our various online platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to review, approve, and moderate user-generated comments on blogs and articles, ensuring they adhere to our editorial guidelines and foster a positive online environment. Key Responsibilities

• Review and moderate user-submitted comments on blog posts and articles in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure all comments comply with established content guidelines, community standards, and legal requirements.
• Identify and remove spam, offensive, inappropriate, or malicious content.
• Engage with users when necessary to clarify guidelines or provide feedback.
• Escalate complex moderation issues or potential legal concerns to relevant internal teams.
• Provide constructive feedback and insights to improve moderation policies and tools.
• Stay informed about current events and trending topics relevant to content moderation.

Required Skills

• Excellent written communication skills in English, with strong grammar and spelling.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
• Ability to make quick, sound judgments based on established guidelines.
• High level of digital literacy and comfort navigating online platforms and content management systems.
• Demonstrated understanding of online community dynamics and best practices for fostering positive engagement.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
• Prior experience with content moderation, online community management, or digital customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with News Corp Australia's publications and editorial style.
• Experience using moderation tools or software (e.g., Disqus, Coral, proprietary systems).
• A degree or background in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Understanding of media ethics and online legal responsibilities.
