Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biotechnologist to join our dynamic Research & Development team in Kansas City, MO. This role is crucial for advancing our innovative projects aimed at developing new diagnostic tools and therapies. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing complex laboratory experiments, contributing significantly to our scientific discoveries and product pipelines. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute sophisticated molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry experiments.
- Perform a variety of laboratory assays including PCR, qPCR, Western Blot, ELISA, flow cytometry, and cell culture.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings to scientific teams.
- Develop and optimize new experimental protocols and methodologies for research projects.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records, notebooks, and digital documentation.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., GLP/GCP).
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including scientists, research associates, and project managers.
- Contribute to scientific publications, patents, and internal reports as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a closely related scientific field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in an academic or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (e.g., DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, cloning).
- Demonstrated expertise in protein analysis techniques (e.g., Western Blot, ELISA, SDS-PAGE).
- Experience with mammalian cell culture techniques and aseptic procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Excel, R).
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Experience working in a GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) or GCP (Good Clinical Practice) regulated environment.
- Familiarity with automation and high-throughput screening technologies.
- Prior experience in drug discovery, diagnostic development, or pharmaceutical research.
- Record of scientific contributions, such as publications in peer-reviewed journals or presentations at scientific conferences.
- Experience with advanced microscopy or imaging techniques.
