Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Biotech Intern to join our dynamic R&D team in Regina. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced laboratory environment, contributing to real-world projects in animal health biotechnology. The intern will work alongside experienced scientists, learning fundamental laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis in a state-of-the-art facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and execution of laboratory experiments and procedures under supervision.
- Prepare reagents, media, and other essential lab materials following strict protocols.
- Accurately collect, organize, and record experimental data.
- Maintain detailed and organized laboratory notebooks and documentation of all experimental protocols and results.
- Support general lab maintenance, including equipment calibration, inventory management, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Participate actively in team meetings, scientific discussions, and present findings as required.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a closely related scientific field.
- Basic understanding of molecular biology, cell biology, or microbiology principles and techniques.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise reporting.
- Ability to work both independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy in experimental work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hands-on laboratory experience from academic coursework or prior internships.
- Experience with aseptic techniques and cell culture.
