Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Big Data Engineer to join our innovative team in Dallas, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that support critical business functions and advanced analytics initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines using big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Flink, Hadoop, Kafka).
- Build and maintain scalable data platforms and infrastructure in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to understand data needs and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Implement data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
- Perform code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and contribute to architectural discussions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues, ensuring data reliability and availability.
- Stay current with emerging big data technologies and methodologies, evaluating their potential application.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Scala, or Java.
- Extensive experience with big data frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including services like S3, EC2, EMR, Redshift, Athena, or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with data streaming technologies (e.g., Apache Flink, Kinesis).
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, AWS Step Functions).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in the financial services industry.
