Job Description

Oregon Episcopal School is seeking a passionate and inspiring Art Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with OES educational philosophy and age-appropriate learning objectives.
  • Teach a wide range of art techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, and mixed media.
  • Foster a dynamic, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore their artistic potential.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
  • Organize and manage art supplies, equipment, and studio spaces, ensuring a safe and inspiring environment.
  • Exhibit student artwork within the school and at external events, celebrating their achievements.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty regarding student progress and artistic development.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching art at the K-12 level.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of art mediums and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
