Job Description
Gagosian Gallery is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Art Gallery Intern to join our team in Brooklyn. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the operations of a world-renowned art gallery, supporting various aspects of gallery management, exhibition preparation, and client relations. The ideal candidate is passionate about contemporary art, eager to learn, and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily operations of the gallery, including opening and closing procedures.
- Provide support for exhibition installations, de-installations, and art handling under supervision.
- Maintain gallery presentation, ensuring artworks and public areas are pristine.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing gallery supplies.
- Support front desk operations, including greeting visitors and answering general inquiries.
- Help with research tasks related to artists, artworks, and art market trends.
- Assist with event coordination and preparation for private viewings and public programs.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support the gallery team.
Required Skills
- Strong interest and knowledge in contemporary art.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Art History, Museum Studies, Arts Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a gallery, museum, or arts organization is a plus.
- Familiarity with art database software (e.g., ArtLogic, Artsy) is beneficial.
- Fluency in additional languages is a bonus.
