Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our dynamic team in Reno, Nevada. This pivotal role requires a creative and technically proficient individual eager to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from commercial and institutional buildings to urban planning initiatives. The successful candidate will be instrumental in all phases of architectural design and project delivery, from conceptualization and schematic design through construction administration. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of architectural designs from concept through construction documents.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including engineers, interior designers, and landscape architects.
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and reports using CAD and BIM software.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant standards.
- Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating architectural vision.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Participate in construction administration, including site visits and responding to RFI’s.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of design excellence and continuous learning.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software.
- Strong understanding of architectural principles, building codes, and construction practices.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated experience in project delivery across various architectural phases.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to obtain professional architectural licensure within the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- LEED AP or other sustainability accreditation.
- Experience with design software such as SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Previous experience working on projects in the government, commercial, or education sectors.
- Prior experience in a large-scale, international architectural firm.
