Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Airport Operations Coordinator to join our team in Munich. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of flight operations, ground services, and passenger flow at the airport. You will be responsible for coordinating various airport processes, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and punctuality. This position requires excellent English communication skills and an ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and coordinate daily flight schedules and ground handling activities.
- Liaise with ground staff, air traffic control, crew members, and service providers to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
- Manage irregular operations, including flight delays, diversions, and cancellations, implementing contingency plans as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and operational regulations and procedures.
- Provide real-time updates and clear communication to relevant departments and personnel.
- Oversee passenger boarding and disembarkation processes, ensuring efficiency and passenger comfort.
- Prepare and distribute operational reports and maintain accurate records.
- Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize disruption.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in airport operations, ground handling, or a related aviation field.
- Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal); German language skills are not required but beneficial.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using airport operational systems and standard office software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Lufthansa's operational procedures and systems.
- Experience with incident management and emergency response protocols.
- Valid driver's license (German Class B) for airside access.
