Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Air Traffic Controllers to join our team in Manchester, England. As an Air Traffic Controller, you will play a vital role in managing the flow of air traffic, ensuring the safety and efficiency of aircraft movements within designated airspace. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control the movement of aircraft in designated airspace and on the ground, using radar, radio, and visual signals.
- Issue instructions and clearances to pilots to maintain safe separation between aircraft.
- Monitor aircraft positions and movements, identifying and resolving potential conflicts.
- Provide pilots with essential information such as weather conditions, runway status, and other relevant operational data.
- Coordinate with other air traffic control units and ground services to ensure seamless traffic flow.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, providing clear and concise instructions to aircraft in distress.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of air traffic operations.
- Adhere strictly to all national and international aviation regulations and procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid Air Traffic Controller license (e.g., ATCO license, ICAO compliant)
- Minimum of 2 years' operational experience as an Air Traffic Controller (aerodrome, approach, or area control)
- Fluency in English (ICAO Level 4 or above)
- Exceptional spatial awareness and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make critical decisions rapidly and accurately under pressure
- High level of concentration and attention to detail
- Medical fitness to the required aviation standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NATS-specific systems and procedures
- Rating endorsements for Manchester airspace or similar complex environments
- Proven experience training or mentoring junior controllers
- Additional language proficiency
