Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Agricultural Technician to join our team in Boise, Idaho. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine field operations including planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
- Monitor crop health, identify diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
- Operate and maintain a variety of agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Collect and record precise data on crop growth, yield, soil conditions, and environmental factors.
- Assist in the setup and execution of agricultural research trials and experiments.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot sensors and data logging equipment.
- Collaborate with agronomists and researchers to optimize farming techniques.
- Conduct basic laboratory analysis of soil and plant samples.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Agricultural Technician or in a similar field (2+ years).
- Strong understanding of crop science, soil management, and plant pathology.
- Proficiency in operating agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Excellent observational and data collection skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Experience with precision agriculture technologies (GPS, GIS, drones).
- Pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with irrigation systems and water management.
- Forklift certification.
