Job Description

Cargill is seeking an experienced and dedicated Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our agricultural sites in the greater Pittsburgh region. This crucial role involves managing all aspects of farm production, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to sustainability standards. The successful candidate will lead a team, implement best practices, manage resources, and contribute to our commitment to innovative and responsible farming. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all daily farm operations, including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and livestock care (if applicable).
• Develop and implement farm production plans, schedules, and budgets to achieve agricultural objectives.
• Supervise, train, and mentor farm staff, ensuring high performance, safety compliance, and team cohesion.
• Monitor crop health, soil conditions, and pest control measures, applying appropriate interventions.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, ensuring regular servicing and repairs.
• Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, production yields, inventory, and financial transactions.
• Collaborate with agronomists, veterinarians, and other specialists to optimize farm performance and animal welfare.
• Research and integrate new agricultural technologies and sustainable farming practices.
• Manage supply chain logistics for inputs (seeds, feed, fertilizer) and outputs (produce, livestock).

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in farm management or a related agricultural role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of crop production, soil management, irrigation systems, and agricultural machinery.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Strong understanding of farm budgeting, financial management, and record-keeping.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills in a dynamic agricultural environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm vehicles and equipment.
• Commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and animal welfare.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Farm Management, or a related field.
• Experience with precision agriculture technologies (GPS, sensors, drones).

• Experience managing diverse agricultural operations (e.g., both crop and livestock).
