Job Description

The Court Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Tarrant County court system. This position involves overseeing administrative functions, managing court staff, coordinating dockets, and implementing policies and procedures to enhance court efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of judicial processes, and a commitment to public service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise court staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of court dockets and calendars.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain administrative policies and procedures for court operations.
  • Manage court budgets, financial records, and procurement processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between judges, attorneys, county officials, and the public.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and judicial orders.
  • Prepare reports, statistical data, and presentations on court activities and performance.
  • Handle public inquiries and resolve administrative issues related to court proceedings.
  • Coordinate technology solutions and record-keeping systems for the court.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in court administration or a related legal environment.
  • Proven supervisory or management experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of court operations, procedures, and legal terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in court management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification as a Court Manager (CCM) or similar professional certification.
  • Experience with Tarrant County or Texas state judicial systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
