Job Description
Fraser Health Authority is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team in Burnaby, British Columbia. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
- Provide direct therapy services to diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.
- Educate patients and their families on communication strategies, swallowing techniques, and compensatory measures.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHBC).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessment and treatment of a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong commitment to patient advocacy and ethical practice.
- Eligibility for Canadian visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in acute care or rehabilitation settings.
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to the diverse population of British Columbia.
- Familiarity with telehealth delivery models.
- Specialized training or certification in areas such as dysphagia management or voice therapy.
