Job Description

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team in Burnaby, British Columbia. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of communication and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
• Provide direct therapy services to diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.
• Educate patients and their families on communication strategies, swallowing techniques, and compensatory measures.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
• Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHBC).
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Demonstrated expertise in assessment and treatment of a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Strong commitment to patient advocacy and ethical practice.
• Eligibility for Canadian visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in acute care or rehabilitation settings.
• Proficiency in a second language relevant to the diverse population of British Columbia.
• Familiarity with telehealth delivery models.
• Specialized training or certification in areas such as dysphagia management or voice therapy.
