Job Description
We are seeking a talented and innovative Textile Designer to join our dynamic design team in Jersey City, New Jersey. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to world-renowned fashion brands, creating compelling textile designs that align with our brand aesthetics and market trends. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in print, pattern, and color, along with a keen eye for detail and a passion for fashion. Key Responsibilities
- Develop original textile designs, prints, and patterns for various apparel categories.
- Research and analyze fashion and textile trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences.
- Create detailed technical specifications and artwork for fabric development and production.
- Collaborate closely with design, product development, and merchandising teams.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure designs are aligned with brand identity, quality standards, and cost parameters.
- Present design concepts and proposals to internal stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong understanding of textile design principles, including repeats, color separation, and fabric construction
- Excellent drawing and rendering skills
- Ability to translate concepts into commercially viable designs
- Solid understanding of garment construction and apparel manufacturing processes
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant textile design work
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CAD software for textile design (e.g., NedGraphics, Lectra)
- Knowledge of sustainable textile practices and materials
- Previous experience working with major fashion brands
- Master's degree in a related design field
