Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Claims Adjuster to join our growing team in Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate the settlement of property, casualty, or motor claims in accordance with company guidelines and legal standards.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, third-party claimants, witnesses, and legal counsel throughout the claims process.
- Gather and analyze information, including police reports, medical records, property damage estimates, and expert opinions.
- Prepare clear and concise reports, document all claim activities, and maintain accurate records.
- Identify and address potential fraud or subrogation opportunities.
- Manage a diverse caseload efficiently, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and service level agreements.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and company product updates.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriters and legal departments, to ensure seamless claim resolution.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Claims Adjuster or in a similar claims handling role.
- Demonstrable knowledge of insurance principles, policies, and claim processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
- Commitment to ethical practices and strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for claim investigations if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Professional insurance designation (e.g., ACII, Cert CII).
- Experience with claims in the UK or European market.
