Job Description

Forest Hill Church is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Worker to join our ministry team in Charlotte, NC. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a heart for service and a calling to spiritual leadership, and we are pleased to offer visa sponsorship for eligible international candidates. The Pastoral Worker will play a crucial role in providing spiritual guidance, care, and support to our congregation, fostering a welcoming and supportive community environment. Key Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care, counseling, and spiritual guidance to church members and the wider community.
• Assist in leading worship services, including preaching, teaching, and prayer.
• Coordinate and participate in various church programs and events, such as Bible studies, youth groups, and outreach initiatives.
• Officiate at special services, including weddings, funerals, and baptisms, as needed.
• Visit sick, elderly, or homebound members, offering comfort and spiritual support.
• Support the onboarding and integration of new members into the church community.
• Collaborate with other ministry staff and volunteers to ensure effective program delivery.
• Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Serve as a spiritual mentor and role model within the congregation.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in pastoral ministry or a related spiritual leadership role.
• Deep understanding of Christian doctrine and practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Ability to empathize, counsel, and provide spiritual guidance effectively.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience working with diverse cultural and age groups.
• Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English and Spanish) is a plus.
• Certification in counseling or chaplaincy.
• Experience in leading small groups or community outreach programs.
