Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team in Hamburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient inbound and outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in warehouse management systems, and the ability to communicate effectively in English within an international team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
- Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts and system reconciliation.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) as required.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., transportation, customer service) to meet delivery schedules.
- Implement and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Prepare reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational metrics.
- Train and mentor new team members on warehouse procedures and safety guidelines.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve operational issues promptly and professionally.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse operations or logistics
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Valid forklift operator license (or willingness to obtain one)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proficiency in German language (B1 level or higher)
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a warehouse setting
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations
