Job Description
Hatch is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CAD Draftsperson to join our dynamic team in North York, Ontario. This is an on-site position. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, plans, and blueprints for various engineering projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Key Responsibilities
- Produce precise and accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, schematics, and layouts based on engineering specifications, sketches, and design inputs.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and ensure drawing accuracy.
- Review and verify drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to industry standards, company guidelines, and project specifications.
- Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes, field conditions, and as-built information.
- Manage and organize drawing files, ensuring proper version control and documentation practices are followed.
- Assist in the preparation of design packages, proposals, and project documentation.
- Stay current with the latest CAD software and drafting techniques to continuously improve efficiency and quality.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software (e.g., MicroStation, Revit, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and engineering drawing standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering designs, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in a specific engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, structural, civil).
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) principles.
- Previous experience working in a large consulting or engineering firm environment.
- Experience with project management software.
