Job Description
Meta is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Social Media Safety Specialist to join our Content Review team. This role is crucial for maintaining the safety and integrity of our platforms by reviewing user-generated content for compliance with our Community Standards and policies. You will be instrumental in identifying and taking appropriate action on content that violates our guidelines, protecting our global community from harmful material. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires sound judgment, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to online safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and moderate user-generated content (text, images, video) across Meta's family of apps to ensure compliance with Community Standards and policies.
- Apply deep understanding of policy guidelines to complex and nuanced content, making accurate and consistent decisions.
- Identify trends and patterns in violative content and provide feedback to improve policy and product solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including policy, legal, and engineering, to address emerging issues and escalations.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion while handling sensitive and potentially disturbing content.
- Participate in ongoing training and calibration sessions to stay updated on policy changes and best practices.
- Contribute to team projects aimed at enhancing content moderation efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in content moderation, trust and safety, or a related field.
- Proven ability to analyze complex information and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.
- Excellent understanding of social media platforms and their impact on global communities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse, global team.
- High level of empathy and resilience when dealing with potentially graphic or disturbing content.
- Proficiency with various software and web-based tools.
