Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Military Recruiter to join our talent acquisition team in Allentown, PA. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in identifying, attracting, and onboarding top talent with a military background, leveraging their unique skills and experiences to meet our organizational needs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of military culture, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in talent acquisition. This position plays a critical role in strengthening our workforce with individuals who embody discipline, leadership, and a commitment to service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies tailored to attract transitioning military personnel and veterans.
- Source candidates through various channels, including military transition programs, veteran job boards, social media, and professional networks.
- Conduct interviews, assess candidate qualifications, and provide recommendations to hiring managers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with military organizations, veteran outreach groups, and educational institutions.
- Attend career fairs, recruiting events, and military transition workshops (both virtual and in-person).
- Advise candidates on career opportunities within Lockheed Martin and assist with resume development and interview preparation.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Collaborate with hiring managers and HR business partners to understand specific talent needs and develop targeted recruitment plans.
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in military recruiting.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in talent acquisition or military recruiting.
- Demonstrated understanding of military branches, ranks, and occupational specialties.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruiting software.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume requisition load.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior military service or direct experience working with military populations.
- Experience recruiting for engineering, technical, or manufacturing roles within a defense or aerospace industry.
- Certification in recruiting (e.g., CIR, CDR) or human resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, HRCI-PHR).
- Experience with diversity and inclusion initiatives in recruiting.
