Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Refrigeration Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Morley, West Yorkshire. The successful applicant will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various refrigeration and HVAC systems within commercial and industrial settings. You will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance and efficiency of critical cooling infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, including chillers, freezers, display cases, and cold rooms.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
• Install new refrigeration units, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct refrigerant recovery, recycling, and charging in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients on system operation and maintenance best practices.
• Maintain accurate service records, inventory of parts, and complete necessary documentation.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service requests, as required.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic or HVAC Technician.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, components, and controls.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues in refrigeration systems.
• Valid F-Gas certification or equivalent international qualification.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Hold a valid driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant vocational training or certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• Experience with various types of refrigerants and advanced refrigeration technologies.
• Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and control systems.
• Experience working in a fast-paced commercial or industrial service environment.
• Previous experience working in the UK or internationally with diverse client bases.
