Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dosimetrist to join our leading radiation oncology team. This critical role involves working closely with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to design and implement radiation treatment plans for cancer patients. As a Dosimetrist at MD Anderson, you will utilize advanced treatment planning systems and imaging modalities to optimize radiation dose distribution, ensuring the highest level of precision and patient safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and generate external beam and brachytherapy treatment plans under the supervision of a medical physicist and radiation oncologist.
  • Perform dose calculations, dose distribution analysis, and evaluate treatment plans using advanced treatment planning systems.
  • Collaborate with the radiation oncology team to ensure the accuracy and quality of patient treatment plans.
  • Utilize imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and PET scans for treatment planning and simulation.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, including chart checks and in-vivo dosimetry.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new treatment techniques and technologies.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of treatment plans and related patient information.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and institutional policies.

Required Skills

  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Radiation Therapy, Physical Sciences) or completion of a dosimetry program
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as a Dosimetrist
  • Proficiency with modern treatment planning systems (e.g., Eclipse, Monaco, Pinnacle)
  • Strong understanding of radiation physics, anatomy, and radiation oncology principles
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Medical Physics or a related field
  • Experience with specialized techniques such as SBRT, SRS, IMRT, VMAT, and Brachytherapy
  • Familiarity with ARIA or Mosaiq oncology information systems
  • Experience in an academic or research-oriented healthcare setting
