Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customs Broker to join our team in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customs documentation for import and export shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all Canadian customs regulations.
• Determine correct tariff classifications, valuations, and origins for a wide range of goods.
• Liaise with clients, carriers, and government agencies (e.g., CBSA) to resolve customs-related issues and facilitate smooth border crossings.
• Advise clients on customs duties, taxes, tariffs, and other import/export requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements.
• Assist with audits and post-entry amendments as required.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of duties and taxes.
• Utilize customs brokerage software to manage declarations and client profiles.
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize logistics and supply chain processes.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Customs Broker or in a similar customs compliance role.
• Thorough knowledge of Canadian customs legislation (Customs Act, Customs Tariff, Special Import Measures Act).
• Expertise in tariff classification, valuation, and origin determination.
• Strong understanding of import/export documentation and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and regulatory bodies.
• Proficiency in customs brokerage software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada (visa sponsorship will be provided for qualified candidates).

Preferred Qualifications

• CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation or equivalent certification.
• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
