Job Description
Are you a highly motivated student eager to gain practical experience in the energy sector? Nigeria LNG Limited offers an exciting Summer Operations Internship program designed to provide hands-on learning within our world-class gas liquefaction facilities on Bonny Island. This internship will expose you to the complexities of large-scale industrial operations, process management, safety protocols, and supply chain logistics. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real projects and understanding the operational backbone of a major global energy company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist operations teams in daily tasks, monitoring, and reporting.
- Participate in operational planning meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Support the implementation of safety procedures and environmental compliance.
- Conduct data collection and analysis related to operational performance.
- Contribute to documentation of operational procedures and best practices.
- Shadow experienced engineers and technicians to understand various plant processes.
- Engage in special projects aimed at enhancing efficiency or sustainability.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, or equivalent), Operations Management, or a related technical field.
- Strong academic record.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated interest in the energy industry and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an industrial or technical setting (e.g., lab work, workshops).
- Familiarity with process flow diagrams (PFDs) or piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Basic understanding of safety management systems.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced industrial environment.
