Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Digital Forensics Analyst to join our dynamic cybersecurity team in Leicester. This role is crucial in investigating complex cyber incidents, preserving digital evidence, and providing expert analysis to clients across various industries. You will work on cutting-edge cases, utilizing advanced forensic tools and methodologies to uncover the root cause of security breaches, insider threats, and other digital crimes. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive digital forensic investigations for clients, including data acquisition, preservation, and analysis from various digital sources (e.g., endpoints, mobile devices, cloud environments).
• Identify, analyze, and interpret complex digital evidence related to cyber incidents, data breaches, and corporate investigations.
• Develop and implement forensic collection strategies to ensure evidence integrity and chain of custody.
• Utilize industry-standard forensic tools and techniques (e.g., EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Volatility, SIFT Workstation).
• Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation outlining investigative findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
• Present findings to clients, including technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly and concisely.
• Support incident response efforts, providing real-time forensic analysis during active incidents.
• Stay abreast of the latest digital forensics techniques, tools, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams, including legal counsel, IT security, and law enforcement.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in digital forensic methodologies and evidence handling procedures.
• Experience with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK Imager, X-Ways Forensics, Autopsy, or similar.
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and file systems (NTFS, FAT32, HFS+, ext4).
• Knowledge of network forensics, memory forensics, and cloud forensics principles.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of forensic tasks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., GCFE, GCFA, GCIH, ACE, EnCE, CCFP).
• Experience with threat intelligence platforms and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) and legal aspects of digital forensics.
• Experience working in a consulting environment or for a large enterprise security team.
