Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Financial Examiner to join our dedicated team in Nottingham. In this critical role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough examinations of financial records, transactions, and practices to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial regulations, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of integrity and accuracy. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive financial examinations of bank operations, accounts, and transactions.
• Identify potential risks, irregularities, and non-compliance with banking laws and regulations.
• Prepare detailed reports of findings, recommendations, and corrective actions for management.
• Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and risk management systems.
• Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and legal teams to address findings and implement solutions.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations, laws, and industry best practices.
• Provide guidance and support to business units on regulatory compliance matters.
• Participate in special projects related to financial integrity and risk mitigation.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Financial Examiner, Auditor, or in a similar compliance-focused role within the financial sector (minimum 3 years).
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations (e.g., FCA rules, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), KYC).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in financial analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong ethical compass and commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as Certified Financial Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or similar.
• Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience with large-scale banking operations and diverse financial products.
• Knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques for financial risk assessment.
