Job Description

Electronic Arts is seeking a talented and passionate 3D Animator to join our creative team in Fargo, North Dakota. This is an exciting opportunity for an animator with proven experience to contribute to high-quality interactive entertainment. You will be responsible for bringing characters and environments to life, ensuring fluid and impactful animations that enhance gameplay and visual storytelling. Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D character and object animations for games, including combat, locomotion, emotional expressions, and cinematic sequences.
• Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and engineers to ensure animations meet project requirements and artistic vision.
• Rig and skin 3D models to prepare them for animation.
• Work with motion capture data, including cleaning, editing, and applying it to characters.
• Implement animations into game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide constructive feedback and iterate on animations based on team and stakeholder input.
• Maintain consistency in animation style, quality, and performance across the project.
• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve animation pipelines and techniques.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in 3D animation software (e.g., Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender).
• Strong understanding of animation principles (timing, spacing, weight, anticipation, etc.).
• Experience with character rigging and skinning.
• Ability to create both keyframe and motion capture-based animation.
• Familiarity with game development pipelines and real-time animation constraints.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality 3D animation work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animation, Game Art, or a related field.
• Experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for animation tools.
• Experience with facial animation and lip-syncing.
• Previous experience working on shipped game titles.
