Job Description
As a Public Policy Coordinator at Google, you will support the Public Policy team in various capacities, helping to advance Google’s policy positions and engage with policymakers, industry partners, and civil society organizations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a keen interest in technology policy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be instrumental in managing projects, conducting research, and preparing materials that inform our public policy strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with research and analysis on technology policy issues, legislative proposals, and regulatory developments.
- Support the planning and execution of meetings, events, and engagements with external stakeholders, including government officials, academics, and NGOs.
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for internal and external audiences.
- Track legislative and regulatory developments relevant to Google's business interests at the state and local levels.
- Manage internal communications and coordinate across various internal teams to ensure policy alignment and information sharing.
- Maintain databases and contact lists, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, travel arrangements, and expense reporting for team members.
- Contribute to the development of policy positions and advocacy strategies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Law, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in public policy, government relations, legal affairs, or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or similar office productivity suites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working with elected officials, government agencies, or non-profit advocacy groups.
- Familiarity with technology policy issues such as privacy, AI, competition, or content moderation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
