Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our dynamic healthcare team in San Antonio, Texas. Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients of all ages with precision and care.
• Verify patient identification and labels accurately prior to specimen collection.
• Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and quality control procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
• Document all collection procedures and related information in electronic health records.
• Manage and maintain phlebotomy supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist with other laboratory duties as assigned, including basic clerical tasks.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy program.
• Current Phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT, NHA) or eligibility for certification.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Phlebotomist in a clinical setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection techniques for diverse patient populations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer proficiency for data entry and record-keeping.
• Eligibility for visa sponsorship in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related scientific field.
• Experience with various laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Experience working in a hospital or large clinic setting.
