Job Description

We are seeking motivated and aspiring individuals to join our team as Tool and Die Maker Apprentices. This comprehensive apprenticeship program offers hands-on training and mentorship from experienced professionals, providing the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to become a skilled Tool and Die Maker. Apprentices will learn to design, build, repair, and maintain dies, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling used in the manufacturing of precision components for aircraft and other advanced systems. Key Responsibilities

• Learn and apply fundamental principles of tool and die making under direct supervision.
• Operate various machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines.
• Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to create precision tools.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformity to specifications.
• Perform precision grinding, fitting, and assembly of die components.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with experienced toolmakers and engineers to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges.
• Document work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
• Participate in classroom instruction and practical training sessions as required by the apprenticeship program.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Basic mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and instructions.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision.
• Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn a skilled trade.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment (e.g., shop class, hobbyist, entry-level position).
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (even basic exposure).
• Enrollment in or completion of a relevant vocational or technical program.
