Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Surgeon to join our prestigious team at Spire Leeds Hospital. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and accurately diagnose surgical conditions.
• Perform complex surgical procedures with precision and adherence to best practices.
• Provide exemplary post-operative care, including monitoring patient recovery and managing complications.
• Participate in regular multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in continuous professional development and adhere to GMC guidelines.
• Mentor junior medical staff and foster a culture of learning and excellence.

Required Skills

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practice.
• CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in a relevant surgical specialty or equivalent specialist registration.
• Extensive experience as a Consultant Surgeon in a hospital setting.
• Demonstrable expertise in a specific surgical sub-specialty (e.g., Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, etc.).
• Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fellowship of a Royal College of Surgeons (e.g., FRCS).
• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated involvement in research or teaching.
• Sub-specialty fellowship training.
