Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in Birmingham, Alabama. Key Responsibilities
- Conducting legal research and factual investigations using various resources.
- Drafting, reviewing, and organizing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, agreements, and correspondence.
- Managing and organizing case files, documents, and evidence, both physical and electronic.
- Assisting with discovery, including preparing interrogatories, requests for production, and responses.
- Preparing for and assisting attorneys at depositions, hearings, trials, and closings.
- Interacting with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and outside vendors.
- Maintaining docketing systems and tracking deadlines.
- Summarizing deposition transcripts, medical records, and other legal documents.
- Ensuring compliance with all court rules, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
- Paralegal certificate or Associate's degree in paralegal studies.
- Strong proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under pressure.
- Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and ethical considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, LegalFiles).
- Notary Public commission.
